How long do I have to wait before highlighting hair?

My hair is naturally black-brown, I've dyed it slightly darker with more of a dark brown highlighted look to it but it still looks black. It has been a couple of days and I want to get caramel brown highlights, is my hair too dark/black to get it highlighted now?How long do I have to wait before highlighting hair?
Wait because the first week f dying your will look darker than its gonna turn out..

it's a perm you have to wait with... not color
you dont have to wait at all


bleach basically does act as a stripper for the color... to get caramel colored highlights id sugest the tannish colored bleach and a 40 volume developer..the high number developer will help ';strip'; the color from your hair and the tinted color of the tannish bleach will put the tannish caramel color in your hiar... that is if you do it at home.. you didnt specify.. but yea you can do it right away
