Natural ways of highlighting hair?

I have dyed my hair blonde for years, but have finally grown it out because I'm concerned about all the nasty chemicals they put in hair dyes. However...I'd still like to lighten my dark blonde hair. Anyone had any success using natural ingredients?Natural ways of highlighting hair?
The only way to naturally bleach your hair is to be in the sun. The sun lightens you hair and brings out the color which results in natural highlights. I don't know if it will actually take dark hair and make it blonde, but it will lighthen it.Natural ways of highlighting hair?
Try lemon juice. Squeeze it on to hair. Gentle rub. Sit in the sun. Hey presto it works.
I've heard that putting lemon juice in the areas you want to lighten and then sitting in the sun helps. But as this years summer is a bit of a washout, good luck on finding the sunshine.
Sunlight is good.

I heard lemon juice works but not tried it.
i like it how people say ';nasty chemicals'; when i bet they can't even state what those chemicals are and what reaction they have on the hair, lol! please learn some chemistry if you believe bleach and colours are ';nasty'; they only damage your hair if you use them incorrectly, oh and by the way lemon juice, sun-in and the actual sun are WORSE for your hair as lemon juice and sun-in are citric acid and ACID corrodes and dries hair BADLY, and the sun is frying out all the natural pigment in what will be a very lengthy process and you may not ever get past the orange stage whereas with bleach it takes one bleachout of (averagely) 45 mins and then only root touch-ups once every 4-6 weeks on the root area ONLY, you are not frequently submitting your hair to ';nasty chemicals'; like you are with the sun whereupon it would be near impossible to get JUST the roots!
