Is it okay to go swimming a day after bleaching/highlighting hair?

I was hoping to bleach or highlight my hair tonight, but I am going swimming in a chlorine pool tomorrow. Is it okay to bleach or should I wait?Is it okay to go swimming a day after bleaching/highlighting hair?

As I am a licensed cosmetologist....NO..theres nothing wrong with going swimming after you highlight your hair. Over exposure to chlorine..such as swimming every day all summer...will probably turn it a shade of green. But every now and then is perfectly fine =) Just be sure to put a good conditioner in it afterwards. My favorite leave in is called Real Control Crema Care by Redken
it will be fine, just make sure you wet your hair or put conditioner in it right before you take a tip. filling your hair with water or conditioner first makes sure your hair isn't so porous so it won't absorb so much of the chlorine from the water. good luck!
